Insight Forecast Q&A 2025

What does the Insight Forecast service offer?

Our Insight Forecast service is tailored to help Local Authorities accurately predict losses from Check, Challenge, and Appeal. Using advanced in-house algorithms and unmatched rating data, our team of dedicated analysts provides a comprehensive set of reports. These reports enable local authorities to make well-informed decisions for their NNDR returns with confidence.

How has this changed over recent years to better aid Local Authorities?

Over the past few years, our Insight Forecast service has evolved to provide more comprehensive reporting, enabling local authorities to make even better-informed decisions. This includes the introduction of enhanced CCA reporting using updated VOA files, more focused NNDR1 reporting, and ongoing refinements to our internal algorithms for greater accuracy and reliability.

With the January 31st deadline for NNDR1 submissions approaching how does the forecast team assist in the completion of NNDR 1 and 3 forms?

Our forecast team supports the completion of NNDR1 and 3 forms by using our internally developed algorithms to predict reductions stemming from Check, Challenge, and Appeal processes, along with the resulting yield loss. We provide this information in a detailed Power BI report, which includes tiered loss estimates for 2025-26. This allows local authorities to select figures based on various analyses. Additionally, we offer further insights into losses from previous years and lists to enhance understanding of the tiers.

If a Local Authority hasn’t yet signed up for the Insight Forecast service is there still time to benefit from the service before the deadline ends?

Yes, there’s still time to benefit from the service. Signing up is simple, as Analyse LOCAL is now listed on the Government’s G-Cloud framework, making procurement even easier. Our Client Managers are available to guide you through the whole process. We also have ready-to-send reports to assist with the accurate completion of NNDR1 and NNDR3 forms.

How has the Insight Forecast module improved since last year to offer a better service to our clients?

Since last year the Forecast team has introduced the Forecast Monitoring report which pulls together all the Forecast data to allow clients to get quick insights as well as benchmark themselves against their region.

What is in store for the Insight Forecast service this year?

This year the Forecast team plans to expand on its current offering with additional reporting and improved algorithms. All of which is led by client feedback to ensure our service is best placed to assist with the current challenges of managing provisions.

How can Local Authorities benefit from the Forecast service outside of NNDR form deadlines?

Beyond the NNDR1 deadline reporting, Local Authorities benefit from monthly updates to our CCA and Threats reporting. These updates are based on current outstanding items, list movements, and changes in case law or legislation. This provides Local Authorities with insights into fluctuations in losses throughout the year, along with additional reports to help understand the causes and trends behind these changes.
